Brief History of Chrisbo Medical Center

The practice started in 1997 in the guest room of the founder of the Hospital, Dr. Mrs. Bose Ola, while they were still living around Ologede side, in Ashi, Ibadan. The need to start the clinic arose, due to the pressure of family and friends who have confidence in Dr. Mrs. Ola and would prefer to consult her for their various medical challenges, rather than going to the hospital. Apart from their belief in the founder of Chrisbo Medical Center, there are other factors that made some prefer going to her place for medical counselling and help, these include the distance and accessibility to other medical centers, financial constraints, critical and urgent medical needs and so on. Thus, to commence the Clinical practice, Chrisbo Medical Center was officially registered with CAC on 11th May 1998.

The original aim was to provide the best available medical care at affordable prices for the neighbourhood, however, it became obvious that that small guest room was too small to attend to patients. This situation put pressure on the clinic, which
later grew to a large property at number 3 Adegeye Street, new Bodija.

Shortly after moving to the site, the clients kept increasing such that, it was not only rendering clinical services to the neighborhood, people started coming from Lagos and outside Ibadan, due to recommendations from our satisfied patients.
In 2000, it became obvious once again that there was a need to move to a larger place and possibly to a permanent site. As God would have it, in September 2002, Chisbo Medical Center moved to its permanent site at 68 Akobo Road, beside Ace Supermarket, Anifalaje, Akobo. It became the first hospital in Akobo axis from General Gas to Olorunda.
